Moderation- how dull!

I’M NOT SURE what it means, but moderation —
of all things — seems to have become fashionable.

Of course I might just be get-
ting old, but most of my
friends are into rational
abuse of their bodies. That is,
the health fad has preven to
be rather enduring. I thought
it would go away.

What amazes me is how
caim everybody seems. Here
we are, lying naked on a table
between two superpowers
armed with enough fire
power to wipe out half the
solar system, and the big con-
cern is... diet.

through the second week of
my Scarsdale diet. I exercise
every day for about half an
hour, working up a terrific
sweat. I have long since stop-

Cigarette smoking is the
one that surprises me. Ac-
tually, it gives me hope. The
tobacco companies are
screaming bloody murder,
which means that the cam-
paign which began 20 years
ago to Start getting people off
the weed is finally beginning
to bite.

It is quite possible

family circle, there have been
dramatic moves. My
daughter quit. Her boyfriend

she’d never quit. But then, |

learned she had lung cancer.

have any more cigarettes —
and already she’s saying she
doesn’t miss them. Much.
