THE Des Moines Register

reports that Danie! Long, 35,
has been fired from his job as
a greeter ata local Wal-Mart.

According to records in the
state unemployment appeals
agency, Long had called one
customer a “snob,7; ‘told
another she had tu be “smarter
than the cart” to get nwo carts
unstuck; and called another a
“fat elephant.”

A 50-year-oid man was -

arrested in Albuquerque on a
complaint by his 13-year-old
stepdaughter that he made her
perform a series of bizarre acts
written out on indea cards and
which were supposedly to
toughen her in her quest to
get a earner’s driving permit.

According to the com-
plaint, the girl was allowed to
drive che truck until the man
turned up an index card with
an instruction, which she had
to follow before driving some
more.

Among other things, the
cards called for her to pour
shampoo and dirt into her
hair; wear a dog collar; do sit-
ups; stand naked in the glare
of the truck’s headlights; and
stand ticd to a bar and with a
ball in her mouth.

Continental Airlines has
filed a lawsuit against Deborah
Loeding, whom the airlines
said endangered passengers in
order to get revenge on her

Ms. Loeding had baked
him some bread, but
unknown to the pilor, had
laced it with marijuana so that
he would fail the airline’s drug,
test and get fired, which did
hapgen, although he was tater
reinstated when Continental
learned what happened.

Turner, now 56, against ex-
