Tea and Love Letters

THE NORTH Shore Neigh-
bourhood House is hosting an
afternoon trip to the
Marvellous Monthly Matinee
series at the Arts Club Theatre
on Granville island.

Participants will be treated
to a play, refreshments
courtesy of Tetley -Tea and a
chance to meet the cast.

This month’s play, Love
Letters, is a moving story of
two people whose lives have in-
tertwined from childhood to
their early golden years. They

are able to maintain a relation-
ship by writing letters to each
other that are often funny, sad
and sometimes questioning of
each other’s choices.

The trip runs Wednesday,
March 17 from | to 5 p.m. and
costs $13.50. Pre-registration is

mentally challenged on recre-
ational outings in the community.

A volunteer is. needed to offer
quality -communication and sug-
gest effective avenues for stress
‘management. ; ;

The volunteer is needed once a
week:in the evening or during the
week. Training. and orientation
will be provided.

HELP THE Rotary Club . by
selling tickets for the annual Great

_ Capilano River Duck Race. Duties
include - providing. information
about the race to the public at
local mails. The hours are flexible. .
_ EF. YOU. like working with
children, volunieer to help at 2
community daycare facility on the

_ North Shore. Duties include’
preparing: simple snacks and
supervising the operations of the
kitchen. '

DO YOU have an intcrest in the.
field of mental health? Spring
training will be starting in May
for volunteers who wish to work
in this area.

Learn about the mental health
system in Canada, about mental
illness, and how to volunteer ef-
fectively in menial health settings.

CAT LOVERS are needed to
help with grooming, feeding,
cleaning and medicating cats at a
shelter. The hours are flexible;
training and orientation will be
provided.

RELP TO transport food from
a seniors’ residence in West Van-
couver to Horseshoe Bay for a
seniors’ evening meal,

The volunteer must have his/her
own car, and be strong enough to
lift 35-pound containers. This is a
weekly, or biweekly, 30-minute
drive from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

car is needed to assist an elderly
woman on outings to the library,.

to be working with.

the equipment; try and stay
focused on how the company
plans to deliver your message.

That depends upon several
things, and will be determined by
your needs and your budget. A
simple video can cost a few thou-
sand dollars, but you can spend
hundreds of thousands of dollars.
