West Van's Arthur Frederick Jones is one of those rare individ- uals who was actually born in Vancouver, 60-some-odd years ago. For the past 45 of his busy, productive years, he has been di- rectly involved in marketing, advertising, broadcasting, public relations and business manage- ment, besides being one of the founding fathers of the oh-so- successful BCTV, which began life as CHAN TV in 1960. Art began his illustrious career in the 1940s as a reporter and photographer for the Vancouver Sun. It was he who captured on film the roaring blaze that destroyed Vancouver College back in 1946. He was also one of those far- thinking people who realized that our province had so much poten- $5.00 off any BONSAL with this ad ART Jones ... long career. tial to offer as a setting for Hollywood movies, films, televi- sion series and international commercials that his dreams and determination led to the establishment and faunch of the famed Panorama Studios, high on the hills of West Vancouver. That was where the first major motion picture was filmed almost 25 years ago by the leading British J. Arthur Rank organization.
