Jerry Zucker were let loose with
their own shotgun style of humor,
but the show fizzled in the ratings.
Never ones to avoid self-
plagarism, they have resurrected
the bumbling detective for their
latest caper.

The nominal plot involves a
conspiracy to assassinate Queen
Elizabeth during her visit to Los
Angeles. Drebii’s chief suspect is
Mr. Ludwig (Ricardo Montalban),
a well-respected financier with a
taste for beauty — at any price.

He’s also behind a drug ring that
Frank's partner (O.}. Simpson) lit-
erally stumbles into, before being
pumped 47 times (give or take).

Throwing the poker-faced Frank
off the scent is Ludwig's delicious
secretary, Jane (Priscilla Presley)
who makes nice-nice with smiles
he can feel all the way down to his
hip pocket.

But nothing and no one can stop
Frank from cracking the case, even
after he's been told to turn in his
gun (naked or otherwise). It just
means a little improvisation — say,
impersonating an opera singer
about to warble the national an-
them in front of the Queen and 20
million T.V. viewers.

The jokes come so thick and
fast, that you'll be winded after 10
minutes.

Bob Hoskins enters the picture
as the wayward brother of her
landlady. She misinterprets his
mercenary interest in her with an
