10 - Sunday, July 3, 1988 - North Shore News FOR THE SUMMER Quay to Grouse Mtn. : bus service extended | WEST VANCOUVER Mayor Don Lanskail recently announced a sum- mer extension for the 236 bus route that links Lonsdale Quay and Grouse Mountain. \ Lanskail, who is also Vancouver Regional Transit Commission chair- man, said the extension was being implemented in response to requests from “both our transit passengers and the North Shore business com- munity.” The 236 service, which will operate until Sept. 4, is a direct route from the Quay:to Grouse Mountain and cuts 10 minutes of the regular 35- minute Quay-to-mountain trip. The extension also offers improved service to Grousewoods, the. Capilano Road corridor and such tourist attractions as the Grouse Mountain Skyride, Cleveland Dam, the Capilano River fish hatchery, . Capilano Regional Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Introduction of the rovte extension coincides with a major North Shore 3 tourism promotion. Ridership will be closely monitored on the service extension to deter- mine if it will be initiated again next year.
