VANCOUVER FOR A North Vancouver quilter is making a name for herself beyond Canada’s boundaries. Gail PL Hant’s book Quilrworks aeross Canada: Eleven Contemporary Workshops, has been chosen as a donation by the Association of — Pacific Northwest Quilters. The book was gi to the Anchorage Municipal Libraries in Anchorage, Alaska, in celebration of National Quilting Day in the U.S. on March 15. The hard-cover publica- tion highlights one quilter from each of Canada’s 10 provinces, as well as a quilter from the Northwest territo- ries, the Yukon Territory, First Nations of Canada, as well as Hunt herself. Each chapter contains a multi- page interview with = the quiltmaker, a gallery of her quilts, and a workshop detailing an aspect of her technique. By donating a book writ- ten by a Brush Columbia author/quiltmaker to an Alaskan library, the associa- tion furthers its mission of encouraging quiltmaking and individual quilters throughout Alaska, Alberta, B.C., Idaho, Montana, Washington and the Yukon Territory.
