THE provincial gov-
ernment has given the
North Shore Health
Region a 11.2%
increase in its budget,
but a $1.1 million
deficit is still predict-
ed.

On Wednesday, six months
after the budget year started, the
provincial government
announced $175.4 million
would go to North Shore Health
Region (NSHR) for the budget
year 2000-2001.

The funding includes $2.5
million fora MRi machine (mag-

A Lions Gate Bridge closure schedule cover-
ing to the end of October was announced

this week.

The bridge will be closed to traffic for deck replacement work
from 10 p.m. Saturday night to 6 p.m. Sunday ¢
weekend until Oct. 29. The bridge will not be closed Thanksgis
weekend, Oct. 7 to 9.

One deck section will be replaced each weekend.
