down in real estate market

today.

The survey examined over
66,000) real estate trans-
actions in the past 18

months and compared them
to annual statistics dating
back to 1987,

In the first quarter of
1991, sales of condominium

made up 37% of all real
estaie transactions in Van-
comer. This is a io) in-
crease over 1990, but a S%o
increase over 1989, and 14%
above the 1987 figure of
23%. dt ois also the highest
proportion of condominium
saies of any major Canadian
city.

The survey shows  con-
dominiums appeal to a wide
range of home buyers in
Vancouver. In 1990, nearly
30° of buyers were in the
30-39 age group, and, in
addition, 34% of buyers
