As part of their ongoing commitment to the community they serve, McDonald’s Restau- rants has always been a major contributor with programs specially designed as fund raisers and educational tools. Here are just a few examples of McDonald’s community programs in North Van- couver. Hamburgers for Schools: A top notch fund raiser designed to benefit local area schools, by enabling students to earn extra money for school functions. Because school budgets are often taken to their limits, it has become necessary for students to raise additional funds for extracurricular activities. By holding their own “Hamburger Days", students may receive 10% from the sale of their hamburger order. The funds are reimbursed and the school may in turn purchase team uniforms, computers and other equipment. Or, funds raised may go to help finance field trips and other school functions. Many schools are’ currently using the program on a weekly basis, while others participate to raise funds for special events. Arrangements can be made by contacting your Lynn Valley McDonald’s. Orange Bowls: Another great way to carn money for schools, sports teams or community groups.
