By PETER LORIMER With the move towards another professional soccer league in Canada, along with the already existing American Soccer League and the National Soccer . League in Eastern Canada, perhaps it would be an idea for an “F.A. Cup” plan to be put into practice here in North America. Imagine a competition set up similar to that in England where the teams from the so- called “lesser leagues” take part in a knock-out com- petition with games spread throughout the season. As the competition wears on, cleaning. the bigger teams come in until you're ending up with some pretty exciting games between say, ourselves, and another team from the ASL. The excitement generated from Cup competition can be thrilling, especially if the smaller club starts knocking off the odd “giant” or two. Not only is that good for the club and their sup porters, but for their league and the general well-being of the game. This type of schedule in the midst of regular season games puts a different and fresh focus on things around ySNIEe,, O” —_ Dg e you Care... you share The HOTTEST fireplace heat extractor on the market A Installs in 45 minutes and roduces enough heat to reduce your heating bill by as much as 75%. ¢ Weighs 130 pounds for easy removal for maintenance and © Does not cause creosote problem in firebox or chimney. © Fire bums in firebox where it is designed to. © Does not require hearth extension to 16 inches. e CSA and UL (ULC equivalent) approved. the league. There’s a great feeling at the smaller teams to go out and take on the “big-name” clubs. And quite often, they win. Take the English F.A. Cup for example.
