Speaking of steering, the 850
has a surprisingly tight’ turning
circle for a mid-sized  front-
wheel-drive car. Ten metres (33.5
fect) makes U-turns and tight
parking manocuyres more man-
ugeable.

Stopping is simple, tov. Stand-
ard four-wheel disc brakes with a
standard three-channel anti-lock
braking system offer short stop-
ping distances and foui-weather
safety.

The 850’s interior is well laid-
out and very well equipped.

Standard = equipment includes
driver and passenger-side airbags,
a tilt/telescoping stecring wheel,
CFC-free climate control, a
superb 80 watt AM/FM _ stereo
cassette player with eight speakers,
and 60/40 folding rear seats for
access to the trunk. The front
passenger seatback will also fold
fiat for those especially long
roads.

My enly criticism with the inte-
rior were its ventilation controls
and monotone color scheme.

upholstery, power glass tilt/slide
sunroof, separate driver/passenger
