The evening panel, consisting of representatives from Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Geologica! Survey of Canaca, Ministry of Forests, and the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, voiced their specific concerns to the larg- est crowd attending the five public meetings. After a_ brief ‘‘geographical tour’? of the Howe Sound water- shed, the six-member panel outlined the five major concerns developed from a Bowen Island weekend workshop gathering of 75 specialized scientists in Oc- tober. All members of the panel agreed that establishing such responsibilities would be the first step in starting to heal the sound. Environmental author Guy Dauncy said, *‘What is needed is a unified principle on the watershed, with a complete re-organization of boundaries and administration principles. The Howe Sound needs a single watershed authority with a clear master plan and statement of goals.’* When asked what the public can do to effect change in the sound, Dauncy responded, ‘‘The first step is also GIFT OF BEAUTY EUROPEAN FACIAL Each treatment is designed specially for you using only the finest and purest ingredients.
