Lightning strikes
N. Van home

¥: NORTH VANCOUVER City Fire Department firefighters were

called to an East 1/th Street house Monday night after lightning

blasted 2 hole in the home's roof.
The fire ment was contacted by a neighbor who witnessed

the lightning strike just after 8 p.m.

.°. According to a fire department spokesman, the strike ripped a
three-foot hole in the roof. The lightning hit sent a shower of
shingles 200 feet into the r. The roof did not catch fire.

The lightning -caused éome-mild excitement in West Vancouver

hurt in accident

North. Vaacouver resident John Allen Hennessy, 60, of

- cGuver General Hospital after being hit and dragged beneath a ce-
meat track.

~The accident: occurred at about 1 p.m. Friday when the track
catered the Oceaxv Construction Supplies Yard at Granville Island.
“The incident Is still under Investigation,’ said Const. Mike

Woman guilty
of assault

A NINETEEN-year-old White Rock women pleaded guilty to

assault Monday.

North Vancouver provincial Judge J.B. Paradis gave Jenny
Towriss six months probation and ordered her to have no contact
with assault victim Jim Kelly after a May 31 incident in North
