NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given that all persons who deem
their interest in property affected by the following pro-
posed bylaws will be afforded an opportunity to be
heard on the matters contained therein at the Public
Hearing to be held on Thursday, June 29, 1989, at
the Bowen Island Community Schoo!, Bowen Island,
B.C., commencing at 7:30 p.m.

In general terms, the intent of the proposed bylaws

1. Bylaw No. 86, cited as “Official Community Plan
(Bowen island) Bylaw, 1981, Amendment Bylaw -
No. 1, 1989" would define the major road plan for
Snug Cove. in general terms, the design would
provide a cul-de-sac at the eastern end of Govern-
ment Road, local parking along the road in front
of the shops, a redirection of ferry traffic in a foop
running north of Government Road under the ridge
between the lagoon and Snug Cove, marshalling
for cars waiting to get onto the ferry along the
south side of the loop and parking for at least 100
cars within the loop. The intent of the design is
to minimize congestion in the cove while improv-
ing the flow of traffic to and from the Island

2. Bylaw No. 87, cited as “Official Community Plan
(Bowen Island) Bylaw, 1981, Amendment Bylaw
No. 2, 1989" contains a housekeeping amend-
ment to correct the Community Plan map to reflect
amendments made to the Plan text in 1983. The

“Plan designations would combine Ct and C2
classified lands into C1; place C3 lands into C2;
and place C4 lands into C3.

3. Bylaw No. 88, cited as ‘Bowen Island Subdivision
Control Bylaw, 1977, Amendment Bylaw No. 3,
1989", would amend the name of the existing
Greater Vancouver Regional District Subdivision
Control Bylaw No. 270, 1977, to clarify It as an
\slands Trust bylaw: and would also remove Sec-
tions 4.16 and 4,17 in their entirety, and replace
them with a new Section 4.16, “Lot Size Excep-
tions". The new section would provide some fiex-
ibility for boundary adjustments where no new lots
are created, and would allow creation of lots for
public utilities and park uses.

between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Mon-

day to Friday inclusive, excluding statutory holidays.
