Greater Vancouver Regional
District’s year-round pro-
gram to promote recyciing of
materials such, as paper,
glass, tin, oil, clothing, old
appliances and metals,

Initiated last year, Recycle |

association with numerous

community organizations, .

More than half the total
population of the Lower
Mainland is now served by
regular curbside newspaper
pickup programs that operate
in 13 municipalities, some
carried out by private firms,
others by non-profit.

There are many reasons for
recycling.

It diverts materials from
our fast-filling landfills and it
is considerably less expensive
