RCMP breakins

A Vancouver law firm has
asked B-€vs_ attorney
general whether any action
is being taken about
unlawful RCMP break-ins in
the province.

In a letter dated June 13 to
the attorney-general’s
department Roger McAfee,
a partner in the firm of
McAfee Berens Wosk,
writes;

“As you may recall, last
year it was admitted that
there were in excess of four
hundred unlawful break-ins
by R.C.M.P. Offices in the
Province of British
Columbia.

“Apparently these break-
ins related to searches in-
volving narcotics.

“I would be interested to
know whether or not there
have been any investigations
with respect to these break-
ins and whether charges
have been laid.

“I would also be interested
to know whether or not there
is any investigation un-
derway, or whether or not
any charges are con-
templated in this matter.

“We look forward to
receiving a reply to. this
letter at your carliest
possible convenience.”
