Cue sounds of wailing and lamentation from fine food afi- cionados living in or around the gende hamlet of Edgemont Village, where the Boys established their original Village Bistro as one of the best small restaurants on the North Shore — make that one of the best North Shore restaurants period. But, as they say in the phi- losophy trade, all things must past, and you can only do so much with 50 seats. The Bistro Boys — Joc Perri, Shawn Perger, Sam Kang and Steve Myddleton — had done much and more. They were doing a land- sale business at the Village Bistro almost from the time they took over the location in carly 1996. But ambitions developed with the restaurant. They needed a bigger stage. If you can have this much fun with 50 seats, how much more fun can you have with twice that number?
