Of particular interest to busi- nesses built on earthquake fault- lines will be Michael D. Caren, director of Environmental, Saiety and Emergency Preparedness for Pacific Bell (California). He'll talk about the impact on business at Pacific Bell during the Loma Prieta Earthquake on Oct. 17, 1989, and the Los Angeles earth- quake this past January. Ballard entrepreneur up for national award A North Shore individual fig- ures among the finalists announced for Pacific Region's Entrepreneur of the Year Program.
