frustrated by the common pitfalls
of running a small company.
These include accounts with
small independent firms, which
often take many months to pay

for clothing purchased. :

tied up inexpensive samples

to expand to a larger manufactur-
er, which would have been more

" cost-effective.

Johnston said she would be
interested in working as a design-
er for a larger firm. She hopes to
some day return to designing her

"own label because, she says, she
now knows how not to make

some common business mistakes.
