INFORMATION MEETING

RE: AMENDING THE SQUAMISH
ESTUARY MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Squamish Estuary Coordinating Committee (SECC) is
a joint federal/ provincial and municipal commuttee that has
been guiding Jand and water use in the estuary since 1984.
The SECC has sought puttic and aboriginal peoples’ involve-
ment in amending ihe plan, a process which began in the falf
of 1991.

The Committee has now reviewed at length all of the
issues raised, mave further modifications to the proposed
plan and has prepared an information package for distribution.

The Committee will be hosting an information meeting on
November 4, 1992 at The Garwaldi Highlander Hotel, Banquet
Room between 3:30 and 9:00 p.m. to exalain revisions to the
proposed plan.

Documents describing the proposed pian will be available
at the Squamish Municipal Library and the Squamish Munitipal
Hall, 37955 2nd Avenue. To receive this package by mail,
please contact Mr. Dennis Deans. SECC Chairman at Depart-
ment of Fisheries & Oceans, #400 - 500 West Hastings Street,
Vancouver, B.C., V6B 5G3 (666-6566).

Written comments will be accepted until November 25,
1992. Please mail thern to Mr. Glen Carlson, SECC Coordinator.
