Pastor moves on THE PASTOR of the North Shore Alliance Church recently announc- ed his resignation. Rev. Arnie Toews’ ministry concludes this Sunday, Feb. 25 with a Farewell Fellowship at the church, 201 E. 23rd St., North Vancouver, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Rev. Toews came to the North Shore with his wife Linda and their . two sons in 1982 to become pastor of the West Vancouver Alliance Church. He began his pastoral ministry in 1966 in Lanigan, Sask., and also pastored churches in ' Alberta and Nanaimo before com- ing to the North Shore. When Rev. Toews came to the West Vancouver church there was an average Sunday attendance of 35. The same year, the building was sold and the cong-egation rented facilities at the International Plaza Hotel. The name was changed to the North Shore Alliance Church and in late 1983, the congregation moved to North Vancouver Recre- ation Centre. It continued to grow and in January 1988, the new church at 23rd Street and St. Georges Avenue in North Van- couver was completed. Today, the average attendance on a Sunday is 250 people. The church, which has seating for 450 people, has room for more growth. Immediate plans for the Toews include a six-month sabbatical with a view to plant further churches for the Christian and Missionary Alliance. # | Gordon Price Music} EVERYTHING IN| MUSIC--——————— 1260 GRANVILLE ST. 688-0023 FRI, FEB. 23rd and SAT.
