N entering its 20th year, the Coho Festival Society is a volunteer, environmentally based organization committed to protecting North Shore salmon streams and rivers. This year’s event will take place Tuesday, September 7th to Sunday, September 12th. To meet its objectives, the Society takes a leading role with business, government, education and environment groups in promoting public awareness and understand- ing of fishcrics as an important and vital natural resource. What insnediately comes to mind when asked to write about West Vancouver is that in these hectic times and ongo- ing growth the community spirit is strong, and very notice- able. It is especially visible when we have our Community Day parade with thousands of people lined up along Marine Drive applauding all the participants, and particularly the school kids. The spirit is just as noticeable at any other com- munity event anywhere in West Vancouver. It is at these times that we realise that in our busy lives the one thing we will always appreciate ishow much we care for our children and neighbours. ~ Ted Nebbeling MLA West Vancouver-Garibaldi — Jeremy Dalton MLA West Vancouver Capilano ANCOUYER FAMOUS SEMI-ANNUAL SALE ON NOW! ° MARGARETA ¢ SANDY ELLIOTT * HEIDEMAPIN * COMO ¢ Oui SET ‘e NEW MAN ° KIMIKO* MoMDI | * DONNA * MAPIMOLITI * NYGARD ° SANDWICH * VIRANI .
