Heather Ireland received her traming in Winnipeg where sne was awarded the Gold Medal in music from the University of Manitoba, 18 NOW ANSION . with the affections of adolescent boys as casually as she runs through her cheerleader routines, and the swaggenng athlete who would sooner lose a touchdown than lose his cool. And there are their inevitable sidekicks, the cheerleader’s gawky girifmend, who moons over photos of the rock stars, and the intense hopelessly. uncool boy who has never kissed a girl. The language ts frank, but unfailingly funny, as the play and was also a scholarship winner of the Women's Music Club. Miss Ireland has broadcast on numerous occasions on C.B.C. radio and television, and _ has presented recitals for the Vancouver and Winnipeg Women’s Clubs, as well as recitals at the Vancouver Art Gallery. As a solotst Miss Ireland has performed with the Winnipeg Sym- phony Orchestra, the C.B.C. Orchestra, Vancouver Cantata Singers and _ the Vancouver Chamber Choir, of which she is presently a member. Marnie Carter received her early music education in Toronto, Montreal and MORRIS, the uncagny impersonator of the late King of Rock ‘n Roll Elvis Presley, wings in from Las Vegas May 17 for a three-week “Tribute to Elvis” show im the Plazazz! show room of North Van- couver's International Plaza Hotel. She received the Associate and Licentiate diplomas from the University of Manitoba and continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music tn London where she obtained the Licentiate diploma in piano and = voice. Since settling in Vancouver in 1963, Miss Carter has established herself as a piano teacher and has_ received wide a claim as an ac- companist for such organizations as the VWan- couver Opera Associaton, Opera in the Schools, and with individual = artists.
