Mayor Jack Loucks told tenants and NSTA spokesman Richmond at a | council meeting ‘last week that-the City, as landlord, can't take away Cressey’s lease but can sue Cressey if the company is violating any legislation. But according to the City solicitor ¢here are no grounds for such a suit, said Loucks. ‘Richmond slammed the City for saying there was no case, calling council a “developers’ council”. He is recommending tenants take class action on their own behalf against Cressey. Richmond also estimated the apartment complex is costing Cressey, “at a liberal estimate”, about $450 a month including the cost of the City lease.
