Folkfest chairman and longtime supporter North Vancouver Aid. Stella Jo Dean explains that these free offerings contribute to inter- nationa! understanding by pro- viding an opportunity to appreci- ate the cultures of many lands. The holiday gets off to a grand start, at 10:30 Saturday morning with the North Vancouver Lions Club Parade. Prior to that, early birds can en- joy an 8 a.m. pancake breakfast at 14th Street and Lonsdale, where they will be entertained by musi- cians. Decorated bikes will be judged on originality, color and creativity at 9:30 a.m. at Victoria Park. For information about the Bike Dec- orating Contest, contact Paul Hasler at 980-5809.
