According to a Squamish RCMP spokesman, the ac- cident occurred at 3:09 p.m., 17.5 kilometres north of Squamish. A 14984 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by a 32-year-old female Whistler resident, collided with a 1985 Pontiac, driven by a 51-year-old male Coquitlam resident. The Camaro lost control, avoided another car, and struck the oncoming Pontiac. Road and weather conditions were good at the time of the crash. The driver of the Camaro was pronounced dead on arrival at Lions Gate Hospital. Her name had not been released to press time Monday. The three occupants of the Pontiac were taken to Squamish Hospital and later released. Block parents JAPAN CAMERA stores in Capilano and Lynn Valiley malls have joined forces with the North Vancouver Block Parent program during this holiday season. To Jan. 7, Japan Camera manager Donna Yamamoto has agreed to let the stores become Bleck Parent Houses. Biock Parent’ program area coordinator Eloise Mar- shail has set up the mall program due to the number of chitdren who are fost or separzted from their parents while shopping during the busy holiday period. The program teaches children to ran and (tell a **Block Parent’’ if in trouble. A Block Parent is a ‘‘safe strang- er’ to turn to. A Block Parent house is recognizable by a sign con- taining a red on white Block Parent logo, which ii placed in a visible window. Parents can show thelr children these signs at the stores and instruct them to go to these stores if they get lost or separated from their parents. The North Vancouver RCMP sponsor the program.
