A nod, a thumbs- up signal, yes, ‘and general approval. : Kaltenbach is not satisfied with merely turning out ap- petizers and entrees. Bistro Piccolo is, after all, his res- taurant; all desserts served ($2.75), from German Apple Pie to Pecan Pie are made in the restaurant’s cramped kitchen. Do not leave without sampling a slice of Sour Cream cake, Kaltenbach’s own creation. Rich, creamy, and not too sweet — it liter- ally melts in the mouth. Capilano, in addition to its on-going outreach into the community and with local industry, is now actively involved in aspects of local economic development with business and community organiza- tions. On the North Shore, Cap is discussing with repre- sentative organizations the need to form a broad-based Economic Development Group. In Sechelt, One of the Cap projects is the cre- ation of a resource centre for the developing aquaculture industry, and in Squamish the college is involved in helping organize the promo- tion of tourism as a local in- dustry, WIDE RANGE Through its campuses the College offers a wide Tange of academic, career, and vocational programs. There are also many services available to non-student res- idents such as the library, educational counselling, and learning skills workshops. Acting Principal of Capilano, Dr. Douglas K. Jardine stated: “This special week will provide the business leaders and the community with the oppor- tunity of strengthening their awareness of the college and our role in the community.”” KLARA PiKO DESIGNS Elegant fashion created from the best of fabrics.
