A POLICE car and a stolen
vehicle both suffered damage
late Friday, as West Van-
couver police tried to pin
down a suspected car thief.

A 13-block chase along
Marine Drive ended when the
driver of a car reported stolen
from a Horseshoe Bay garage
turned and attempted to
escape by ramming the police
car.

The car went out of con-
trol, feft the road and struck
a power pole, leading to the
arrest of a 16-year-old West
Vancouver youth.

The youth was taken to
hospital, treated for minor
injuries, and then released by
police into the custody of his
father.
