reminds them of the good
old days of simple flying,”
Banner says. “A _ private
pilots license seems to be
only for business, while
Lazairs are a sport.

“You can really soar in
them — it’s sort of like a
motorcycle of the sky.”

hours to earn his license, he
has probably invested about
$10,000 in lessons and flying

But Banner charges ap-

cut, of course. Although
there are no regulations for

open to any sort of pilot —

teaches newcomers the
basics and, Banner hopes,
anticipates the regulations
the government is bound to
bring in shortly.
