They played McPherson Playhouse in Victoria a year ago and those who saw them Disney’s The Apprentice to near-life on . stage haven't forgotten the ~ mesmerizing performances. Now famous Players, still under the supervision and direction of dynamic Diane Dupuy, return to McPherson Playhouse December 12 and 13. But they start their tour - in North Vancouver’s Centennial Theatre Monday . and Tuesday, December 8 and 9; will be in Duncan at the Cowichan Theatre on December. 10 Alberni on December 11. Under ordinary cir- cumstances this would be a challenging schedule for 13 youthful puppetcers but it’s nothing short of a miracle for Famous People Players because Diane Dupuy has recruited most of her per- formers from among any number of talented mentally handicapped youngsters. Even when it took hours, days, months, to teach them the art of black light pup- petecring, Diane Dupuy never gave up. Today the troupe is as disciplined aod as professional as any theatre company on the continent and it is with justifiable pride in their skill and craft that these young people receive their standing ovations aftcr each performance. The current tour that will open the cyes and hearts of B.C. audiences includes The Barbra People - and at the ADSS Auditorium in Port . Diane Dupuy’s young adults behind their black curtain.
