where he tossed a complete game one-hitter and struck out eight to
lead the Florida Marlins over the New York Mets. Dempster, who hails
from Gibsons. logged three season with the North Shore Twins

has a record of 3-2 with a 2.39 ERA and 51 strikeouts this season.

NORTH SHORE GIRLS REPRESENT THE COUNTRY

Four North Shore soccer players have been selected for two nation-
al soccer squads. West Vancouver's Claire Pollock and Jacqueline
Ferraby of North Vancouver will play on the under-?9 squad while
Breanne Milne and Gabby Nejedio, both from North Vancouver, will

a week-long training camp last week in Burnaby.
