MIKE Tate has been
elected president of The
Vintage Racing Club of
British Columbia.

West Vancouver's Tate is a
regular competitor with the
club both here and in the
United States, racing the 1964
Canadian Champicnship win-
ning BRobsy Formula Vee.

Two other North Shore
residents have abo been elect-
ed as officers of the club: West
Vancouver's lifetime amateur
race driver Dave Roberts and
North Vancouver — resident
Andrew Slater, who alse
active with the Medical ait
Emergency Turn Workers
Association.

The Vintage Racing Club
of British Columbia is a non-
profit society that was formed
in 1976 and is one of the ald:
est vintage racing clubs in
North Anverica.

Before Westwood Motor
Sport Park was shut down ia
1990 the VRC BC hosted the
annual Westwood Histories
which attracted cars from
throughout the west coast of
North America. The club now
co-sanctions vintage races at

Seattle International Raceway
and members actively partici-
pate in the growing sport of
vintage motor racing.

only race in Canada and North
America but also race as far
afield as Eurepe and the

Westwood track in 1990 the

VRCBC hosted a weekend of

vintage motor racing at
Mission Raceway Park.
Thousands turned up to see
Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes
AC Cobras and single seater
race cars ail built prior to 1969

compete in the true spirit of
Vini..ge motor racing.

Yhere were also displays
and track tours uf some
incredible vintage motor bikes,
Morgans. MGs and all manner
of cars from the forties, fifties
and sixties.

Once again this year on the
weekend of May 27 and 28
the VRC B.C. will hest anoth-
er great weekend of vintage
racing at Mission Raceway
Park.
