Ballantyne of North Vancouver has received a Commonwealth Feliowship to study in England. The — fellowships — are awarded to outstanding schol- ars who wish to pursue post- graduate studies at universities within the Commonwealth. Ballantyne will take up his award at Cambridge Univers where he will be working for the next three years towards his PhD in astrophysics at the Institute of Astronomy. Ballantyne attended Eastview elementary school and graduated in 1993 from Sutherland secondary school. He completed his bachelor of science at the University of Victoria in 1998 and has just completed his master’s degree at the Canadian Institute for at the ity of Toronto.
