College men’s basketball
team Is a perfect 4-0 on the
season as the Blues won two

_ weekend home games.

On Friday night, the Blues
beat University College of
the Fraser Vailey (UCFV)
89-79.

And the following night
the Blues edged — the
Okanagan Lakers 116-110
in double. overtime.

With the weekend victo-
ries, the Blues are currently
tied with Langara for first in
B.C. college cager standings.

The women Blues also
played UCFV and Okanagan
on the weekend, dropping
the Friday night game 79-73,
then bouncing back on
Saturday for a 67-65 win over
Okanagan.

Both Cap basketba!l teams
host Friday night games at
the college’s Sportsplex. The
women tip-off at 6 p.m.
against Langara, while the
battle for first place in the

CROSS-CCUNTRY... West
Vancouver’s Geoff Reid fin-
ished 12th out of 301 runners
to be the top North Shore
finisher at the recent B.C.
High School Cross-Country
Champienships. :

In team competition, West
Vancouver was 13th among
33 schools.

in girls’ competition, the
top North Shore competitor
was Baimoral’s Johanna
Bischof, who finished 28th
out of 238 participants.
Rockridge’s Anna Marie
Allander was 38th’ and
Handsworth’s Danielle
Tegart was 40th.

Handsworth finished Lith
in the 26 school field.
