It’s bad enough in society that young girls think they have to look thin and sexy all the time, and even teen magazines por- tray this. As for me, I’m a 19- year-old woman with large muscles because I play ice hockey and that’s the way I like to look. I could care less if I weighed 200 pounds, really. 1 had never listened to the beautiful voices of so many birds. Before coming to Canada I had never seen such a beautiful sky and fresh sun- shine. 1 aad never seen my reflection in a river... 1 had never seen leaves covering the sky just like clouds do. In my country I had never sat in nature and listened to the voices of the water, the river and the trees. I had never seen a waterfall, Before coming to Canada I had never seen untouched nature or smelled fresh air. BR Recently, we also asked if you think marijuana should be legal- ized, and if more money should be spent to educate and encour- age people to choose a life with- out drugs, including alcohol. ® I think that the girl who wrote her article about mari- juana did a let of thinking, but I think she’s got it backwards, We shouldn’t be legatizing marijuana, we should be ban- ning alcohol and tobacco. If you legalize marijuana, more People will start to do it and they’H think of if as OK because they know they can’t be caught by the police. She also mentioned that there weren*’t many deaths from smoking marijuana but she didn’t mention the long-term (negative) effects. People do get sick and have long-term effects.
