| NORTH VANCOUVER Community Arts Council is celebrating
the holiday season with an art rental exhibition. This fall’s
jurying has resulted in 28 new pieces of original artwork ac-
cepted from 95 submissions. Jurors Barbara Sungur, associate

professor of printmaking at the University of B.C.,and Robert
'| Young, UBC professor of painting and drawing, awarded a
three-way tie for first prize. Cash prizes of $75 were awarded
te North Shore artists Janet Brant for her chalk pastel portrait
entitied Murray (in photo), Monique Ditters for her charcoal,
Cloudraker and Colieen: Cosgrove for her paste!, West Coast
fieflections. Some of the winning works will be on display at
the next Gece. 11 art rental. The art rental exhibition is design-
ed to assist emerging artists and to expose the community to
