by hundreds of other
veterans and Legion
members on the North Shore
who gather each year to par-
licipate in the annual poppy
campaign.

the West Vancouver
Legion’s poppy campaign,
says the Legion hopes to
distribute over 36,000 pop-
pies this year.

Through taggers, who
distribute poppies for dona-
tions, canvassing local
businesses for donations,
$16,000 was raised for medi-
cal research and special
Legion sponsored projects,
such as helping a veteran’s
widow fix her leaky roof or
sending a small girl who lost
her hands in an accident
back east to have artificial
limbs fitted.

The West Vancouver an-
sual Remembrance Day
parade will assemble Mon-
day at 10:15 acm. at the
Safeway parking lot in the
1600 block Marine Drive.
Comrade John Brooks will
be the parade marshal.

In North Vancouver a
service is being held at the
cenotaph (8th and
Lonsdale) starting at 10:45
a.m. It is followed by a
parade up Lonsdale to 13th
where L/Col. W. Dow will
take the salute from = the
veterans.
