$650,000 for City park NORTH VANCOUVER Ci- ty hopes to complete Phase Il of its Waterfront Park by the end of this year. A bylaw to approve the ex- penditure of $650,000 raised in tax sales to this end was taken to third reading at Monday’s meeting. The work to be done will include landfill and building of a seawall and pier. Don Abney told Council Monday reconstruction plans would provide a ‘“‘first class facility from which to Operate concessions and in which the League can secure- ly store its equipment.”’ The cost of reconstruction has been cstimated at $95,000, with $35,000 already “‘more or less pro- mised by the City of North Vancouver .”’ Abney said the organiza- tion would like to. see On the foe SM substantial funding come from the District either in the form of financial contribu- tions or skills. Little League baseball has operated for about 30 years in North Vancouver with more than 7,000 youngsters participating in the J.C. Rotary area.
