Seventeer-year-old Suther- land students: Rina Parbhakar and Alicia Miller are among 10 Lower Maintand youths partic- ipating in the High School Summer Research Program with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C, & Yukon. Parbhakar, Miller and the other students are spending the first 2% weeks in July living in residence and working in the foundation’s lab at UBC, The two main objectives of the program are to enable the students to become more acquainted with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular research and to give them the opportu- nity to work under the supervi- AYLORMOTIV ] SERVICE LTD. sion ofan experienced research investigator, stia forthe award includes participation in the Ministry of Fducation’s career preparation program, a GPA of 3.5 or greater and a keen inter- est in science. She recently completed orien- tation for the North Shore Multicultural Society’s Host Program.
