1 Ib. shucked oysters
Ke, white wine

% c. softened butter (second
addition)

salt and freshly ground pep-
per to taste

. Melt butter in large skillet,
saute onion, peppers, for four
or five minutes. Add turmeric
and oysters.Pour in wine and
cream, bring to a boil; reduce
heat and simmer for an addi-
tional three or four minutes.
Combine butter and flour
thoroughly; stir into hot stew.
Brin to a boil, stirring con-

tantly to thicken.

Remove immediately, sea-
son to taste with salt and pep-
per; serve. Serves 4,
