Wolves in B.C.: Past and
Present is a mixed-media
presentation designed to edu-
cate and inform the public
about the life and times of the
legendary, and miostly misun-
derstood, animal.

Hear the lonesome cry of
the wolf on high-quality
audio tape and see the incred-
ible creatures up close in
color slides.

The  one-and-half-hour
show will also detail the
range and status-hierarchy of
wolves, their lifestyle and
complex social organization.
Also, current relocation of
B.C. wolves into Yellowstone
Park wil} be explained and
discussed.

The evening workshop is
co-sponsored by the North
Vancouver recreation com-
mission and the Northwesi
Wildlife Preservation
Society.

Police set up
internet site

THE World Wide Web
has caught ies first North
Vancouver traffic com-
plaint.

The Imernet-generated
complaint concerns — the
northeast corner of Philip
Avenue and Plateau ip
Pemberton Heights,

The RCMP detachment’s
traffic section says the com-
plaint indicated the intersec-
tion is an “on-going” situa-
tion and a “neighborhood-
generated” problem.

The resident complained
via keyboard that when
patrol cars work the area, the
level of compliance for the
stop sign increases.

“Over time, motorists
become more daring until
only approximately one in
10 motorists stops for this
very important traffic con-
trol device." said the police.

There is a church, a day
care, and a residential day
care nearby.

Cyclists and many pedes-
trians use the route within
the black, said police.

Local taw enforcers
added patrol cars and. inter-
section enforcement motor-
cycles will be vigilant in the
Pemberton Heights intersec-
tion.

The North Vancouver
Traffic Section plans to
make use of the Internet to
provide North . Shore
motorists with helpful dri-
ving tips in the months to
come.
