Certainly not.

How can a concerned motorist
be sure he or she is purchasing a
superior motor oil product?

That's a good question, and in
this day of promise-the-moon
advertising, it's comforting to
know that consumers can depend
on some reliable navigational stars
to take the guesswork and hype
out of choosing a motor oil.

They are the SAE rating, the
API rating and the recommended

status of the motor oil.

Your owner's manual will tell
you which viscosity grade and
which service rating to use, but as
