Notable trees discussed

A SPECIAL lecture, Notable
Trees of Britain, Northern Europe
and Northern America, will be
held at VanDusen Botanical
Garden on Monday, Feb. 27, at 8
p.m.

This illustrated lecture will be
presented by Alan Mitchell, con-
sultant, lecturer and writer. Mit-
chell, who lives in England, is an
internationally-recognized authori-
ty on trees and is the author of

several books.

Of all the plants in the land-
scape, trees set the scene and dic-
tate the mood. Mitchell will discuss
his selection of trees that are
significant due to their size, age,
situation, shape, rarity or
botanical interest.

This is a unique opportunity to
leara about the many remarkable
trees of the Northern Hemisphere.

There will be limited seating.
