[| learned the ifusion from my uncle, a Los Vegas magician, when I was five.” The 23-year-old Vancouver man first became interested in magic from his uncle, who was known as King Soloman the magician. When Charach was !2 his uncle died, and he began his own carcer as a professional magician. BIRTHDAY MAGIC At first Charach played birthday parties before graduating to ban- quets. But at the age of 15, after winn- ing a nightclub” entertainment competition, Charach began look- ing towards a full-time career as a nightclub magician. This year he is a featured act at the provincial fair's Kid’s World, and along with two assistants, Charach plans to introduce new acts in his illusion show cailed Spellbound. One of the show’s acts is called the Metamorphosis. In this act, Charach and one of his assistants, who is handcuffed, change not only places but costumes, within a three-second time frame. Charach said another large scale illusion audiences favor is the cut- ting in half of one of his assistants. But he’s also well-known for his smaller illusions and magic tricks.
