Job problem hotline PEOPLE who are owed wages by an employer, have been denied maternity leave, or have been unfairly fired can now telephone a Job Pro- blem Hotline in Vancouver for free help and referrals. The Job Problem Hotline, 876-8438, is staffed by volunteers who can provide advice covering the entire range of job-related pro- blems. If necessary, callers will be directed to existing agencies, experts, or tegal help in fighting wrongful dismissal, launching workers’ compensation board appeals, resisting on-the-job harass- ment, or getting due wages, overtime pay, holiday pay, or severence pay from an employer. Employees on a job who want to get together with fellow workers to solve a specific problem at their workplace, or who want to form or join a union, will also be given assistance. The Job Problem Hotline has been established by the Vancouver General Member- ship Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World. Fun- ding for the project comes from the Branch’s member- ship dues. “Existing labor legislation Clue revealed From Page C11 when he took over in 1979, and Vancouver's Children’s Rheumatology Program is sull the largest in Canada.
