Daniel Izzard, a prominent artist and portrait painter was named president of the organi- zation. Pilar Izzard is CIPA’s executive director. Said Daniel Izzard of the organization’s specialized membership: “Portraiture is one eet of the fine arts which demands extraordinary sensi- bility, talent and perception to produce both a Likeness and a masterful work of art with that intangible extra, the ‘essential essence’ of the subject.” Pilar Izzard said CIDA is the first official Canadian portrait painters. Incorporated in Ottawa as 2 non-profit organization, it has ne connection to the Canadian Portrait Academy (CPA). The CPA is a self-support- ing member association tound- sd in the spring of 1996 by Christian Cardell Corbet, a for- mer North Vancouver resident known as “Artist to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother,” whose credentials were called into question in association of August when it was learned that he had no such roval con- nections.
