GIVEN the very nature of the
game of golf, a little humour can
ge a long way (almost as far as a
Tiger Woods tee shot).

The following funnics were found on
that great golf joke reservoir, the Internet:

A golfer ran into an old buddy at the
driving range one day. They talked about
their games, their swings, and all manner
of things.

Eventually, one of them said, “How's
the family?”

“Oh, pretty good,” the frend replied.

Two guys were playing a cart game of

golf and were all square on the 18th.

The first guy sliced his waaayyyy off to
the the left, and the ball came to rest on
the cart track. His opponent smashed it
straight down the middle.

“Oh well,” said the first player. “1
should get_a drop off there.”

“Hell no,” said his playing partner,

“We olay the bail as it lies.”

“OK,” said che first guy, as he dropped
his opponent off in the middle of the fur-
way.

The second guy found the green, and
could not resist smiling as he saw sparks
coming off the cart path for the practice
swings. Finally the guy hitting off the cart
path addressed his ball and swung it well,
leaving a miraculous shot three feet fram
the pin.

“That was a great shot,” the guy in the
middle of the fairway yelled. “What club
did you use?”

“Your 6 iron,” was the reply.

tips is out of Harvey Fenick’s
Little Red Book where he
suggests that if there is any
such thing as a “magic
move” in the golf swing ic is
“to start your downswing, let

your weight shift to your left
foot while bringing your
right ctbow back to your
body.” (page p. 96).

T have also heard it
expressed as “on the down-
swing bring your right elbow
in to your right hip pocket.”

This is the move that
avoids the slice. Master it and
you'll never be a problem
slicer again. And that fact
alone is worth spending

somc time at the driving
range.
