NORTH VANCOUVER
RCMP are investigating
an assault of a 15-year-
old male attacked and
beaten by a group of six
to 10 youths on Friday,
April 19.

The attack occurred near
the Phibbs Exchange in the
1500 block of Oxford
Street.

A resident of the area
heard a commotion at about
11:30 p.m.

The witness saw a group
of teens run off, leaving the
victim unconscious on the
ground.

He suffered exiensive
bruising to his face and
head.

The teen was transported
to Lions Gate Hospital,
where he was treated for a
concussion.

He was released after a
few hours.

North Vancouver RCMP
detachment investigators
believe the teen was walking
in the areca with some
friends when they were
approached by a large group
of youths.

Police have yet to deter-
mine a possibie motive for
the assault.

To press time no charges
were laid.

The police investigation
continues,
