Grow a
winning
sunflower

CHILDREN CAN learn more
about growing sunfiowers through
an event being sponsored by
Maplewood Farm in North Van-
couver.

Participants are invited to pick
up free sunflower seeds and grow-
ing instructions from the farm
focated at 405 Seymour River
Place. Sunflowers can be grown in
the ground or in pots.

After a summer of tending and
growing, children can bring their
prize flower head back to the farm
on Saturday, Sept. 15, during
Farm Fair, for judging in two
categories.

The contest is open to children
up to 16 years of age. One free
pack of seeds is supplied for every
child admission ticket purchased.
